Conservation Programs
Trust for Nature is held in high regard nationally for its conservation initiatives.
The three main components of the organisation's highly sucessful conservation program include:
- Conservation Covenants
- Stewardship Program
- Land Acquisition - Revolving Fund, property purchase and ongoing management
Interstate organisations seek our advice for conservation development and the Federal Government refers to Trust for Nature frequently for advice and promotion, particularly in helping to formulate worthwhile private conservation tax incentive schemes.
Since 1989, Trust for Nature’s covenanting program has been adopted nationally with similiar schemes now operating in Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia.
Trust for Nature's Revolving Fund scheme has been so successful in protecting high conservation value properties that it has been adopted by organisations in other states including Tasmania.
Trust for Nature continues to be a recognised leader in off-reserve conservation in Australia. The foresight and the firm foundations laid down by the Victorian Government in 1972 have ensured Trust for Nature will leave a legacy across the country and for generations to come.
