Calling all nature lovers, be part of our 2026 Calendar! 📸

2026 Calendar Competition

For more than 50 years, Trust for Nature has been working with passionate landholders to protect and care for Victoria’s most threatened plants and animals — ensuring their homes, habitats, and beauty remain for generations to come.

Over 119,000 hectares of private land across Victoria have been protected through Trust for Nature conservation covenants and nature reserves. That’s a lot of homes for birds, bees, orchids, and everything in between!

Now, we want to celebrate the natural wonders we're all working to protect — and we’d love your help to do it.

We’re putting together our 2026 Habitat Forever Calendar, and we want to fill it with your favourite photos that showcase the incredible flora, fauna, and landscapes found on private land throughout Victoria.

A curious echidna, a rare wildflower, or a misty morning — we want to see  moments that spark joy and reflect Habitat Forever.

Whether you’re a seasoned nature photographer or just love snapping pics, we’d love to see your take on Victoria’s wild side.

Get involved. Get inspired. Help us celebrate the landscapes and life we’re all working to protect — forever.

Trust for Nature 2026 Habitat Forever Calendar Competition Terms & Conditions

Entries open on 25 September 2025 and close on 12 October 2025.

Entries must be submitted via https://trustfornature.org.au/2026-calendar-competition

Each image will constitute a separate entry, and must be submitted separately.

Entries submitted via email, social media or any platform other than the above website will not be accepted.

Each entry must include your name, email address, phone number, postcode and a brief description of what is shown in the image and a few words on how it reflects our vision of Habitat Forever.

Images submitted must represent native flora and fauna on private property within Victoria. The property must be owned by you as the entrant, or if not, you must have the prior permission of the owner to submit the entry pursuant to the terms and conditions of the competition. If any persons appear within a submitted image, you must obtain the prior permission of those persons to submit the image, and for their image to be displayed publicly.  Trust for Nature may request evidence of those permissions at any time.

Only high resolution, print quality submissions will be accepted. The image must be landscape format and have minimum dimensions of 297 x 210mm with 300dpi or the approximate equivalent of 2480 x 3508 pixels.

This is a game of skill, not chance.  After entries close, Trust for Nature will shortlist submissions based on the judging criteria, and then open voting to the public to determine the successful twelve submissions. The successful submissions may be published (with name credit and the area location) in the 2026 Habitat Forever calendar.

Judging criteria are:

  • Relevance to ‘Habitat Forever’
  • Storytelling
  • Originality
  • Impact

By submitting an entry, you agree that Trust for Nature may publish your name, the image and the image description, and you warrant that you are entitled to use the image and have any necessary permissions.  You also give Trust for Nature an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the image and its description for its promotional and other purposes.

Trust for Nature reserves the right to suspend, cancel or vary the competition at any time, and all decisions relating to the conduct of the competition are in Trust for Nature’s sole discretion, and are final.
