Trust for Nature protects habitat forever

For over 50 years, Trust for Nature has partnered with Victorians to protect and restore the unique landscapes that make our state extraordinary.

Today, we safeguard over 120,000 hectares of habitat forever.

Trust for Nature is committed to practical action, collaboration and innovation to permanently protect, conserve and regenerate private land in Victoria.

  • We work with landholders who volunteer to put conservation covenants on their property or become members of Land for Wildlife
  • We manage more than 40 reserves across Victoria for conservation
  • We buy properties that are on the market and have conservation value. We then resell them to buyers who agree to put conservation covenants on them.

Trust for Nature relies on the generosity of supporters to help protect Victoria’s biodiversity.

By donating to Trust for Nature, you’ll join a passionate community of nature-lovers who are taking action to protect the land we love and need.

      PROTECTING PRIVATE LAND MATTERS
In Victoria, 62% of the land is privately owned and 78% of the native vegetation on that land is rare or threatened.

Vast areas of natural habitats for native plants and animals, many unique to Victoria, are under threat from land clearing, overharvesting, changing climate and population growth. Without the land that provides their homes, species become extinct.

We urgently need to scale up efforts to protect, conserve and regenerate Victoria’s private land before it’s gone forever.
Practical solutions to fight climate change.
The science around climate change mitigation is clear: this is the decade that matters.

Nature is a vital key to reducing carbon emissions and solving the crisis.

Permanently protecting habitat on private land not only helps wildlife adapt, it helps mitigate climate change by preventing carbon from being released into the atmosphere. And by protecting at a landscape scale, we can prevent fragmentation and achieve resilience at the ecosystem level, providing nature the best chance to respond to climate shock.
People like you can help permanently protect nature.

By donating to Trust for Nature, you’ll join a passionate community of nature-lovers who are taking action to protect the land we love and need. Your donation will help:

      – Expand the areas of habitat protected with conservation covenants and through Land for Wildlife
      – Protect and restore nature reserves we own and manage
      – Support landholders to care for rare and threatened plants and animals.

      For future generations.

      For the world.

The wonder of nature, and everything nature has to offer, has been given to us as a gift.

Each one of us is responsible for taking care and looking after the natural wonders of Victoria — from rainforests to deserts, coasts to mountains.

In the face of climate change and continued vegetation loss, Trust for Nature’s role is increasingly important in preserving Victoria’s remaining native habitat.

Only with your help will we be able to maintain and protect these wonders forever.
