HVP Plantations
HVP Plantations is one of Australia’s largest timber companies.
The HVP Plantations estate includes areas of southern Victoria, extending from Gippsland in the east to the border with South Australia in the west and large plantations in the north east of the state. The total area of land managed by HVP equates to over 240,000 ha. About 170,000ha of this land is pine and eucalypt plantation and 48,000ha is native vegetation.
Trust for Nature and HVP Plantations have partnered to protect habitat in the Gippsland region, including 128 ha protected through conservation covenants on land owned by HVP.
HVP and Trust for Nature have worked in partnership to develop a 20-year Conservation Strategy and undertake weed control and revegetation works to restore habitat in areas buffering the unique chain-of-ponds waterways within HVP’s Stockdale estate.
