Our secluded, gently undulating property of Box Ironbark forest is situated midway between Daylesford and Castlemaine. It’s surrounded by a significant area of privately owned bushland. The property contains many mature eucalypts and middle-storey wattles, and at ground level, a wide coverage of red anther wallaby grass. As well, mosses and lichen are abundant, as are native orchids and sundews. The property is habitat for black swamp wallabies, grey kangaroos, echidnas, antechinus and occasional koalas and many species of native birds and reptiles.

Our three bedroom, passive solar design mud brick home, owner built in 2000, is set within a fenced area (0.28 ha, to exclude wallabies and roos). The house overlooks one of the two dams on the property and is serviced by four rainwater tanks. Near the house are two artist studios, a double carport, two sheds, four wicking vegetable garden beds and several fruit trees. The house is powered by a 5kw off grid solar system with a generator backup.
