Grampians Serenity
Grampians Serenity
On the western edge of the Grampians NP just 15 minutes from Cavendish is “Bushlands”. The property includes an architect-designed, 2/3-bedroom passive solar home.
When we first saw the property in 2007, we fell in love with its trees and its quiet location but we were soon to discover the wonderful diversity of the property which features some 30 species of native orchid, over 80 native birds plus numerous other flora and fauna including the endangered Powerful Owl, Barking Owl, Gang Gang Cockatoo and Yellow-tufted Honeyeater. Endangered plants also feature including the Blotched sun-orchid and yam daisy.
In the spring the Plains Grassy Woodland section of the block is a sea of yellow when the Bulbine lilies are in full bloom. Swathes of chocolate lilies also feature in spring along with numerous other native herbs. Shingleback lizards are often seen making their way through the wildflower meadow eating flower heads. If you are lucky a goanna might be seen on the trunk of a giant red gum. In the evenings you will hear owls, bats and the yapping of sugar gliders.
The property borders the Grampians NP to the east and has other conservation property to the north and south. The western boundary is farmland. Access to the NP is easy and the fire trail that borders the park can be explored on foot or mountain bike.
Please contact us to arrange a visit via the agent. I can also send a detailed document about the property.
