Issue 79 // March 2024
From your backyard to the world
Think global, act local. In this issue of our Conservation Bulletin, you’ll find examples aplenty of how what we’re doing, with the support of landholders, donors and partners, contributes to local, national and global efforts to keep nature healthy.
You’ll meet the Southern Bent-wing Bat, a globally unique and critically endangered species that is dependent on just three caves to breed, one of which is owned by Trust for Nature.
Or consider the Lima Stringybark, which is found only in a tiny area near the Strathbogie Ranges. We’ll meet Ben Petrides, whose conservation covenant protects one of the largest remaining populations of this remarkable gum tree.
Or Kim Wormald, whose property at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges helps connect the last remaining habitat on the floodplains in Melbourne’s south east.
Happy reading, and thank you for supporting Trust for Nature.
