BushBank
Revegetating land to reduce carbon emissions and create habitat for some of Victoria’s most iconic species.
BushBank is a groundbreaking program aiming to restore more than 20,000 hectares of land across Victoria, creating healthy habitat for wildlife and capturing carbon through the planting of millions of native trees and shrubs.
The Victorian Government program provides an opportunity for private landholders to play a meaningful role in addressing climate change and supporting wildlife. Through the program, landholders will be supported to undertake restoration projects on their land, with financial incentives paid over several years.
Trust for Nature is proud to partner with Cassinia Environmental (the program delivery partner) and the Victorian Government to permanently protect land restored through the program with conservation covenants.
Trust for Nature covenants will ensure that the revegetated land is protected forever, even if the land changes hands in the future.
BushBank will contribute to the Victorian Government’s plan to stop the decline of native plants and animals and improve the natural environment, as well as contributing to Victoria’s goal of net zero emissions by 2045.
