Together we can give
nature a fighting chance.
Give today.
A donation today will protect the future of our precious ecosystems, native plants and animals forever.
Together we can help preserve, protect and rehabilitate Victoria’s natural assets and vulnerable native species.
Over the last 50 years, thanks to the tremendous support from people like you, we’ve secured more than 1,500 covenants and protected nearly 110,000 hectares of habitat on private land forever. These places are home to some of our rarest species, like the Helmeted Honeyeater, Growling Grass Frog and Plains-wanderer.
With more than 60% of land in the state privately owned, our work is central to the survival of Victoria’s spectacular wild places and the native plants and animals that make their homes there. Sadly we are still losing several thousand hectares of native vegetation to clearing each year. Climate change is also having drastic effects on the health of our ecosystems and wildlife through increased temperatures, extended drought and increased frequency of wildfires. It’s why long-term protection of what remains is absolutely critical to the future of our precious ecosystems and species.
With the ongoing support of private landholders, government agencies, organisations and businesses, we can protect and restore biodiversity on private land so that wildlife and native plants can thrive now, and for generations to come. We use many methods to achieve our conservation goals and preserve Victoria’s future but none of them are possible without your exceptional support and continued generosity.
Thank you for giving nature a fighting chance by sharing our vision and believing in our work.
Protect
Protecting land with a conservation covenant is one of the most important things a landholder can do to prevent species extinction and build nature’s resilience in a changing climate. Preserve
We use many methods to achieve our conservation goals and preserve Victoria’s future. But none of them are possible without your exceptional support and continued generosity.
People are at the heart of everything we do. By working with landholders, we’re in a unique position to educate them about the plants and animals on their property and the importance of conservation covenants.
Right now, we have a waiting list of landholders who are keen to protect and restore the habitat on their land. With your support, we can help them to map biodiversity features, develop a plan to improve habitat conditions for threatened species, undertake weed control, fencing, and revegetation work.
Some of the landholders we work with have been in the area for generations. Others are new to conservation and have little knowledge of what wildlife is living on their land. No matter who they are, everyone we connect with is passionate about preserving the beauty of our forests, wetlands, grasslands, mountains and coastal areas, and safeguarding the future for all Victorians.
Rehabilitate
Securing the protection of habitats on private land is just the start. Our revegetation projects help threatened plants and animals to not only recover but thrive.
With the passion and commitment of our onground staff, the continued support of our partners and the generosity of private landholders, we have a strong focus on habitat restoration.
By planting new trees, shrubs, grasses and herbs, we can supplement the existing native vegetation in an area or restore habitat to an area that’s devoid of native vegetation. Our skilled team are careful to select the right plant species that will ensure food resources all year round, which is important for threatened animals with particular dietary needs. Coupled with other activities such as feral animal control, weed control, and new covenants to protect refuge areas and create landscape links, and we are best placed to support the recovery of threatened populations.
We accept credit or debit card payments. If you would like to make payment via bank transfer, please contact fundraising@tfn.org.au for assistance.
You will receive a receipt for your tax deductable donation via email upon completion of your donation.
Your donation supports Trust for Nature’s core year-round projects that enable us to protect nature on private land forever. You can learn more by reading our Statewide Conservation Plan here.
